Most important is making sure the water you nebulize is bacteria free. I have used collidial silver for over 10 years and never once had any I'll affects. You do not drink it by the glass full. As with anything I'm sure it has a potential to be used incorrectly.
Why did people use silver eating utensils years past....born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Silver has long been recognized for its antibiotic properties.
My suggestion is read all you can about it on the web before doing anything.
My pulmnologist knows I use the collidial silver.
i don't know what meds you take, but maybe get an appointment with you dr & go over it with him.
when i get infections, they are usually bacterial & i have to take antibiotics...i am hoping with nice weather coming my lungs will get a break from all the diseases that were going around this winter.
the only way i know to keep infections at bay is eat well, exercise, rest & stay away from the sicko's that spread things.
oh yes, most important to me is the pneumonia shot & a yearly flu shot!
Sounds like your wife has already figured out how to make it work for her Johnsgg. I'm sure she could explain with living proof better than I could with words. Find a doctor who will work with you treating your disease. Not all doctors are pill pushers and in it just for the kickback but be very wary. We are being fed too many antibiotics in our foods. Most older people still remember taking tetracycline and amoxocillin and other antibiotics at the drop of a hat but about 40 years ago it was discovered we were over medicating. Every single drug of any kind that we put into our bodies has some kind of affect. Most meds offer short time relief but leave long term side affects.
Most important is find a doctor you TRUST.
in microbiology we learned that america is OVER CLEANING & as a result our children & ourselves are not getting the little doses of germs that we would normally get to build our immune system.
we did experiments gathering & growing different bacteriathen finding what "killed the most".
interesting & i can't list all, but cat saliva was racked with bacteria, toilet, sink & door handles of public bathroom were amazingly clean---but drinking fountain & trash cans filthy etc., (interesting to note also as i was "delivering" alot of farm animal babies that get "stuck" that animal vaginal secretions are CLEAN!
ajax antibacterial dish soap killed EVERTHING; more than bleach or alcohol!
the point was that we clean so much that we don't get exposed to things now days & hence our own immune system isn't building up antibodies to the slightest virus & germs.
my son in law grew up in el salvador, dirt floor, bathe in river etc & that man NEVER got sick while all the rest of my family,& grandkids would catch exerything! (yes i used to be a "clean freak")
of course i'm not saying that those of us with our illnesses and just aging don't have to be more careful to what we get exposed to, but you are correct in building your immunities with the job you work.
BTW; my 1st dr didn't believe in anti-biotics (she felt like you), and i went into a 6 month exacerbation that just about killed me while she "experimented" with me even to the point of using steroids that i'm allergic to (i was desperate & agreed to try by that time)...
finally after her then trying to tell me it was all in my "head" , i found a pulmonary specialist & new PCP.
it took 2 rounds of very strong antibiotics, but it cured me.
the bummer was that not being treated probperly destroyed my lungs even more that they already had been AND i acquired the scar tissue in my lungs (pulmonary fibrosis) that advanced my & put my estimated time left on this earth to about 1/3 of before.
my dr now does white blood cell count & when it shows i have infection i get antibiotics right away.... this year for the first time in 4 years of rapid advancement of my COPD, my HRCT showed hardly any advancement & i'm holding steady! all because i have a dr that stays on top of this with me.
so i'm not saying antibiotic treatment is for everybody; but that "don't use" attitude about antibiotics does not apply to me.
i also have a family member that had heart surgery that they have on antibiotics for the rest of his life.
like any medication, antibiotics has it's time for use.
now days they hand out prednisone & steroids for EVERY little thing~~~bet there comes a time that they end up being overused & not as affective just like antibiotics.
i'm not trying to start an arguement, as you have the right to beleive how you want.
but we have newcomers & old timers on this board that should understand that some things don't apply to us any more and to follow their drs advice....
personally, i am at severe/severe with my disease & the only COPD med i take is spiriva (non steroid) & 02; and i may be slow, but i've been out the past 2 weeks spraying 1 1/2 acres of land with a hose/lawn sprayer to kill weeds, i still live alone, care for myself. and with my dr getting right on my illnesses at first sign (now i know what to watch for also & get in) i haven't been hospitalized & the worse i got last year i was able to use an albuteral nebulizer to "break the crud up" as brenda so aptly put it.
and yes, most meds approved by the FDA have side effects; i have to decide if the benefits outweigh the risks. spiriva & 02 work good for me so far with dr care when i get an "infection" or flare up.
good statistics!
i drink water every day & i don't have a flare up, but when i do antibiotics help me.
= water helps prevent infections :)
gotta have some fun here....have a good day & keep smiling :)
Lovethekitties we were taught over here in the UK that from years gone by to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth or to have silver eating utensils was a sign of wealth, the more money you had the more silver. Sadly I was not born into wealth so good old dirt and muck was the norm ha ha x x
I have only had one hospitalization for my copd.....actually that is my only hospitalization ever aside from childbirth.
I would expect to learn the most info on this from a naturopath or an actual conventional medical doctor who specialises in naturopathy or alternate medicines.
This friend from work who was pumping this stuff last summer had me looking up a site set up by a local MD in my area and it had amazing stuff in it, a huge scar on himself which he healed to perfect new skin by keeping padding on it continually soaked with iodine. In 6 months the photos show this scar just sloughing off his body and fresh skin underneath. Aparently pressure from our local medical college who liscenses doctors had him take this down but I did see it.... I know that is about iodine but it just shows that there is amazing stuff out there, and there are also people who don't want it out there.
Do you own research ALWAYS. & be thorough.
