I have horrible reflux, and a member told me about ginger tea---It works like magic for me!!!
a cup in the evening & i get immediate releif.
i ran out of "fresh" tea the other night & tried using a tea bag i had found; no help at all.
yesterday i zipped to the store & got ginger & was fine again last night.
i'm glad you found releif; gerd/reflux can be so miserable- good luck & let us know if it keeps working (does it help that bloated full of air feeling too?)
(i have been using the tea for a couple of months now & it still works great for me)
Ginger is also a natural bronchodialator and enhances bronchodiation meds.

I've been drinking strong ginger tea from scratch every day for years. I drink it before I take my COPD meds. I love the taste.
Rachel/Jarca, I had wondered if ginger teabags would be as effective as the real deal ginger tea made from scratch. I'm glad ginger is working well for you.
Susan
because i shop only once a month, i bought some extra ginger & stuck it in my freezer so i don't run out again.
has anyone ever frozen ginger? i assume it will freeze & keep okay???
Thanks, Linda
If you don't like the taste of ginger root, you will not like the taste of the tea. It is very spicy, strong and has a "bite." I love it precisely for those reasons.
Perhaps ginger capsules will work for you. You can buy ginger root capsules where diet supplements and vitamins are sold.
Best wishes,
Susan
As Susan said , you might not like the tea either. It has a 'heat" to it & kind of leaves a burning taste in your mouth.
I like it though.
recipe;
scrape off the paper-like peel.
3 or 4 inch piece of ginger root Slice it very thin if you have a mandolin that works great.
Simmer the ginger slices in covered pot; about a quart of water for 30 minutes. The longer you simmer it, but stronger it is.
If the tea is stronger than you like, you can always dilute it with more water. (if using hot tea you might want more diluted, for cold tea stronger to add ice)
I refrigerate it in covered pitcher with the ginger still in it (they sink to bottom), it keeps infusing it & sometimes i dilute it a bit more in a day or so if it gets strong.
i like mine hot at night, with a little squirt of lemon & some honey.
Sweeten to your taste.
It has a spicy taste. Susans suggestion of the ginger pills might work....I also wondered in a pinch if i could use powdered ginger ; kind of like "instant" tea.
The store bought ginger tea bags didn't help me.
Good luck, it really works for me. I have "tested" not drinking it & when the bloat/gerd/ gas hits me i drink a cup---within half a cup i feel better.
