QUESTION ABOUT VENTOLIN HFA INHALER

Hello. This is my first visit to this forum in search of an answer, maybe some encouragement. I was recently given a Ventolin HFA inhaler and you're going to laugh but even with my breathing issues, I have been afraid to use it. Supposed to take 2-4 puffs every 4-6 hours. Trouble is, I went in search of ... and read many reviews on this product and all the possible side effects. Just wondering if any of you have used a Ventolin inhaler and if so, did you have any bad side effects the first time you used it? how long did they last? Thanks.

I never heard of asthalin inhalers. Are they just for asthma? I am happy with mine,(Albuterol rescue and neb, spariva and symbicort)
just making a comment about the name. I am finding out there are a lot I have not heard of.

that goes to show how if people had the option to delete or change posts on here it can really change what is being talked about & become very confusing...i'm rather glad we don't have an "edit" option when i see the confusion it could cause.

I should add that I actually do NOT know why the post I replied to was removed. I assumed a common reason based on my experiences with other sites and thought it likely - but have no evidence to support that assumption.

For obvious reasons it isn't good that I suggested censorship without more evidence.

hi! I've never had a problem with Ventolin & have used it for about 4 years. It's always worked better for me than Albuterol rescue inhaler, although more expensive. I only use it as a rescue inhaler. Everything med has possible side effects, doesn't guarantee someone will always have them. But then again everyone is different. Hope it helps you rather than hinders!

i thought ventolin was an albuterol inhaler?
i had it & it never worked well for me, i think i don't inhale deep enough for those inhalers.
i found nebulizer albuterol works better for me.
and my spiriva.
(this is an old post, but ventilin is still commonly prescribed for us so pertinent.)

reading side effect of meds can be scare me to death!
the albuteol neb makes my heart race & i get shaky for about 20-30 minutes after doing it, i only do mine "as needed" so i'm not sure if that afftect bets better with more often use.

Ventolin isn't the same as albuterol but can be changed with a script for albuterol because they classify as being from the same family. Ventolin is more expensive for me even after insurance but I don't care. It's always worked better for my mom & I than the albuterol inhaler, seems stronger & longer lasting, although a rescue inhaler. my neb meds make my heart race & makes me shaky too, those are common side effects. I have to take neb meds a lot & with my already present tremors, the shakiness is quite annoying. breathing is better though, of course! I realized this was an old post after I replied! I do that a lot!
