OK educate me if you can please! Is what you mean Portable how so is this? I have a "refil" station in my home...where I refil the portable like contaners?

I rent the whole thing, rather my health insurance rents it.
I use to get delivery until we did some investaging and found this type of home system.
The name I have no idea? I just rent what comes comes.

I have an Airsep Freestyle and love it.

I agree with KyleesNan. The AirSep Freestyle is great. It is lightweight and can be used in the car or at home with adapters that are provided.

Ruthie, this is a concentrator type portable that is not dependent on a larger unit. It works strictly by battery. It is recharged by plugging it into a wall socket.( or if you are in the car, the cigarette lighter)

It works on the same principal as the larger home concentrator. It is approx. 5 lbs. You can get additional batteries that you plug the unit into and add to the length of time that you are away from home.

I have used the small tanks of compressed air but found those to be bulky and inconvienent as a portable system.

I am looking to buy one so thanks for the input. My problem is trying to find one that is light weight and runs with a continuous flow and not the pulse. I noticed that to recharge a battery on some can take as long as 3 or 4 hrs. Is this when a extra battery comes in handy?

Has anyone ever tried the EVER-GO portable concentrator? I've been looking for one to take on a trip, but it weighs 10 lbs.(seems a little heavy to me) and is pulse, not continuous. How much difference is the pulsed?

I have seen the EverGo Portable 02 // What I thought was lots of $$$$$$ and it weight just the same as my home fil bottle I take out everywhere I go.
If I was traveling then that is different. Also the company I get mind from will loan me one if I want to fly too. how is that.

Also the one I carry around I have 3 of them....and 2 larger tanks too. Which most of the DME won't do that....aww I duno why the one DME I have did this for me?? They even purchase new bottles because I had problems leaking at first.

OK,, what I do is take a larger tank put it in the back seat and pull thru a hose....then I take the smaller one that only weighs 5lbs with me when I get out of the car. Great idea. huh

Well that way I don't run short unless I am gone longer? But in that case I will take everything I own.
Again my DME is everywhere even across the USA so they told me I can go into any of their offices and get more any time? So for me that works.

Remember my little one isn't the smallest they have one even smaller then the one I use. 5lbs is what I carry around I got all day with it too!!!!! pulse or streming? either or with their speical top.

For those of you who are soon to be or perhaps already on Medicare I learn something new pertaining to oxygen.
Some may already know this but here goes.
After being on Medicare and them paying for the rental of 02 for 36months the concentrator will belong to you. So the rental goes toward purchase.

Yuppers that is true....but they only pay for certain types!!!! They won't pay for the $$$$$ that everyone is talking about. Or that is what I been lead to beleive...so I am ready!!! with my home thinga!!

I have a long wait....I also have medicade...that is a different animal so to speak. So you need to know if Your not over 65

Desertbee, I am planing on asking my Dr. to switch me to liquid O2.
How long does your little 1 last? Do you use ur concentrator at night. or is that strictly a fill station? U said u used your little 1 around the house? Any info would be appricated.

I use the homefil big unit at home only
I go for hours out side the home all day almost, but that is using the larger bottle in the car while we go out.

ok I try it again............large bottle stays in car....I walk around with smaller bottles the smaller bottle last for hours probably 4 hours.
Maybe sometimes more hours?

the next size small one is even lighter and they (dme) won't get it for me....so I have the smallest they will give me.

But if I could afford one of those battery O2 I would own one.

I see them everywhere out here. and one guy at my respority class had one........but we weight ours and my portable came out being the same weight!!!

I just have a problem with what the insurance is willing to pay for.

What I have learn recently is that if one is on the liquid tank refill your self,when you travel that can be a problem as you would need to go somewhere to refill unless you have a portable that runs on battery or electric.
I use the cylinders now which I hate and the small size only last me about 1 hour if out and about. I do have a larger cylinder size that I can pull around and it will last me about 4-5 hours.
I hear many say they have ones that last 6-8 hours. So thinking the difference must be in size and liter flow. I do know that the higher the liter flow the less time they last.
My problem is trying to find a light weight portable that runs on battery or electric that is a conti flow and not operable on pulse settings.
And they are terribly expensive.

Why do u want a constant flow?

I only have constant air at home I use that...it uses up too fast with my small size units to use the constant air for me?>

I would like the battery type of concentrator they are very expensive. I have to use my insurance. They won't pay for that type.
So until I win the lotery or come accross a lot of money. I have to use the potables I have.

I just wanted you to know that it is so much better to have the battery type of portable oxygen.
I just found when the guy who had one and mind were weight I was the same weight; interesting.

I can like I try to say, Use the battery one when I travel further from home. MY DME told me they would give me a battery one type for traveling. I haven't taken up their offer as of yet. So I not sure if they will keep their word or not?

So you might check with whome ever your using as your DME and find out if they are willing to let you have a battery type if you travel outside your home, etc.
