E-bay is kinda picky about selling medical equipment, something about prescriptions needed for certain items. I hope you get the answer you are looking for.

I would love to be able to get one of those myself, I don't think I would be able to stand staying at home indefinitely.

Check with your local medical supply people. I am sure they can help you...or look online for portable oxygen. I can not remember the name of it but there is a portable oxygen that you can carry like a purse or something. My sister has that... It only wieghs about 5 lbs she said. It is supposed to last about 5 hours too compared to the 2 that the small 02 tanks on wheels do. Good Luck. Arlymda

OK, I live in AZ there is a place here that have those battlery run tanks/ only thing they only last a few hours and you have to refil them again.
But I see people with them.
My insurance wouldn't pay for one. They are more money of course.
I just started yesterday with my first tank of the self refilling // not yet sure how much I like them yet.
I have both small tanks and two larger ones that you pull around.
I did have even bigger ones until yesterday.

I look in my insurance book to see who they would pay/ Then after that I look up where they were and me and my husband went and look at them.
Maybe you need to do like me? or not?

One I have heard of is Helios, it's very small and compact and most love them, I hear. Apriva was also my supplier and they gave me a much smaller tank that fit into a backpack kind of thing...ran on batteries, so I don't see any reason you shouldn't be able to get one of those. I had the larger tanks too, but those were in case the power went out or my concentrator went on the blink, etc, although they could also be used for portables.

I rent my oxygen equiptment from a medical supply place. I have a unit that plugs into a wall outlet and disperses oxygen 24/7. The doc reccommended a humidifier on it to keep the nose form getting stuffy or sore. This unit is portable,and can be rolled from room to room, and runs all the time, all i have to do is make sure the water is not too low and plug in my hose to it.....portable tanks have come a long way.....mine are not battery operated at all, they have a device/regulator/ on the top that screws into the top of the tank neck and regulates the amount i need at a time......from 1lpm puffs to 5lpm, or contnious 2lpm.....the tank lasts about 4-5 hours on 2lpm. The carrying case has a strap, looks almost like a back pack except for the tubing coming out of it into my nose. I couldnt afford to buy all this. They come weekly to bring me new hoses, nasal canulas, they take my empty tanks and bring me full ones, im allowed 6 tanks a week....I dont leave the house much, so i never use many..im ususally atached to my main unit.

I bought the Delphi Central Air. I got itt due to traveling and I have to have O2 when I fly. Renting was such an expensive hassle and I figured I would need a portable in the future anyway. It has been super also to use when I am out of town instead of having to either cart around my huge compressor or arrange a temp unit where ever I am. I also use it for bad days when I need O2 to get out and about.

I really liked this company- they went through all the pros and cons of all the types out there. The Delphi has the strongest compressor, less repair history and on the deal I got, it came with 5 rechargeable batteries, carry cart, carry bag, AC adapter and car charger. It also went up to 5 liters and with the 5 batteries that lasts me about 7 hours on flights. ( I have to use 4 liters when flying) Many of the other machines only went to 3 liters.
I like mine- but they all ( battery ones like this) average about 8-10 lbs so I tend to use the little luggage cart unit when traveling.
Check the site out- they also carry used units that they have taken on consignment and checked out and some times you can get a deal. I did get mine new from them.

Oops- one tip, if you do decide to buy one from a local shop- make sure they also service them. Even on line, most of these places do not provide any service or repair ( but this site does) and that can be a BIG hassle.

I use liquid oxygen for my to go tank. It light wait and with the big tank it's good for about 5 hours for me. Some people it will last longer, but I use 4 litler and use it up faster.

I have a Helios that mu supplIer fiurnishes ahe I really enijoy it . It uses liquid ox. I also bought oxy-view glasss that I wear rather than the average canuala. Tthe ox. goes throughthe glasses frame and onto the nose through small tubes. Realy nice.
