When I get a bad coughing spell I get the weirdest sensations in my arms and legs. It's like millions of pins are stabbing me. It only last 1-2 minutes but it kinda scares me. Anyone else experience this?
Also did anyone read about marijana ( Not Smoked) can help COPD?

I have the pins and needles most of the time, I have neuropathy, from Diabetes.

Yes, I read the articles about taking a marijuana pill. Unless they can repair my "airways" that have been destroyed from smoking..I would not be a canidadte for them.

I get the same tingling..........have no idea what it is:(:( Hopefully someone here will know (Denny comes to mind - LOL :)

As for the marijuana.............Haven't heard that one......but I miss a lot:)

I don't remember feeling this, but then I have enough gabapentin in me to choke a horse - which does supress neural transmission. So I'm betting that the body is just shutting down things in reaction to the percieved lack of O2. I often end up with tunnel vision during a coughing fit and I see "stars' on my peripheral vision when mySPO2 is below 89. I'm betting it hits us each a little different.
I haven't read the marijuana article, but I'm betting it's used to reduce general anxiety - which in turn reduces the incidence of low O2 panic attacks. Some of us are prescribed morphine for reducing anxiety.

I am curious about the pins and needles to. It has happened to me a few times...I was fighting off broncitis, and had a huge coughing fit which lead to pins and needles, almost sharp in feeling. I am in denial about copd. Have heard the dr say it twice in the last 6 months. I have no insurance so cant afford the tests from a pulmologist...all I know is I pull a 98% on the pulsometer and I wind easy. If you all learn anything more about it, Im all ears...

Skope2 I think you got it .Its pins & needles but sharper and more severe than just "asleep" sensation. I do choke a lot and it happens then too.It must be something to do with lack of air. I have neuropathy from diabetis too but i feels different. I need to do a little research on this I guess. It is worrisome.

I am thinking the pins and needles are from oxygen being pulled away from those areas into more vital areas. Because I know I was told that if you have that sensation in your legs it means your leg muscles are not getting enough oxygen. Remember they are the largest muscles
So basically what ever Dennis said is 100%.

I do not know about the marijuana, have not heard anything. Here in Texas, we don,t say much about that,,,, lol
