Is there such a thing as physical asthma? I have heard people say they suffer from this, but not the other kind of asthma. My doctor says I have asthma, but I don't get short of breath or stress on my shortness of breath unless I do something that makes me have to move. I can sit and do anything, but then if i have to walk or take a shower i panic right straight and run out of breath. Is this asthma?
I noticed your profile says you are on oxygen and you are 43. Have you been tested for Alpha1?
I was mis-diagnosed for many years, doctors told me the same, I had exercise induced asthma.
I was correctly diagnosed in 2006 with Alpha1 and no longer take asthma meds, which I was taking for 12 years.
Just thought I would ask, its found by a simple blood test and can be done by your primary care doctor or home kits done by mail and are confidential.
I can sympathize with you on the panic thing, they tell me at pulm rehab as soon as I move my heart rate jumps.
Thats where dailey exercise and purse lip breathing help!
