No one has invented the ultimate cord reel, so it is still waiting to be invented. I will let the others give you some ideas and I will search for some online for you.
As for myself, I bought the "retractable cord, and it was a rip off, and the other things looked to complicated and to costly.

i tried clipping my hose of canula it to my waste and holding my arms out & spinning (like on the mountain of sound of music) until i coiled around my waiste.
then when i got up to go into another room i held my arms out and "spin/danced" to unwind as i went & spin/danced to rewind as i returned to the begining.
i just got dizzy & then i forgot if wind was clockwise & unwind counterclockwise
or
was wind counterclockwise & unwind clockwise.
anyway i still haven't found an answer to this problem.
i have a tendency to take mine off if i'm just zipping to another room "for a minute"
which is not good & i don't recommend it because as i progress with this disease my stats are dropping lower & lower for those "quick trips"
if i'm cleaning & up alot i put on my fannypack/ backpack portable bottles to avoid the cord thing.
the best i have come up with is to centrally locate mine in the house that i can use the least amount of hose as possible and i try to be careful when i walk in each direction to most used rooms.
i dealt with this stupid thing with my mother with a walker & i was scared to death of her getting wrapped up in it, now i live alone so i just have to slow down & watch what i'm doing.
i am grateful that now days 02 is so convenient to use, but there are downfalls to it also cuz i'm not bedridden yet!
for now, i'm like bill & the others.
keep my concentrator centrally located and coil it up as i return to my seat.
i don't know what kind of travel set up you have, but my 02 company furnishes all the tanks i want in a month, i just have to trade in empties & get refills, but vacuuming & working outside i am SO GLAD i didn't go with the POC, as i realize how much i use my fanny pack to do things both inside & out!
do you have a portable you can use when tromping around?
Jarca you are hilarious. I'm literally laughing out loud.
I was thinking of something velcroed to my chest. Like a spool or something. Or a little curvy arm sticking out of each side like a vacuum cleaner coiler thingy.
Coiling as you walk. I can do that when I'm not carrying anything else. But as soon as I have a glass in one hand, well . . . Can't walk and chew gum anymore.
