Fun.............call them (your o2 company)......tell them you need someone out there yesterday.

I haven't seen anyone from my oxygen supplier since they delivered it over a year ago.............and I am just renting it, they sure have no problem sending the bill............

Anyway......I would definitely call yours and tell them its not working right.

My supplier will come check it if it is having a problem, but not just on a regular basis. But you should call and tell them yours needs a check up

I use an "Oxy-View" inline flow meter. it can attach in place of a coupling between two hoses.

My previous company checked my concentrator on a set schedule - I believe it was every 3 months. I had never heard of this flow device so my serious thanks to DennyGene for the tip - I'll check out those sites. I have 50 foot of line hooked together in the day time hours to let me reach my kitchen. I've been having big problems recently with my o2 levels falling on me when moving around a lot. Sounds like one of these might be useful. My new o2 company hasn't had a chance to show me a schedule but whatever the company - don't hesitate to call and ask them to come and do a check on your concentrator if ever you don't feel comfortable with the machine.

Today was an awful day caused solely by my own concentrator refusing to hold a Level 5 supply but of course I was moving around just wondering why I was so short winded until I went to check the thing and it was below 4 and dropping. Had to spend the whole day waiting for them to get here. I know we all get used to these little hitches when we are on these things but dealing with some companies can be really frustrating and none of us need that. I only changed companies cause the spouse got put on o2 this year also and is now wearing a bi-pap mask and I had wanted to avoid the conflict of sorting out whose equipment belonged to who.

my provider gave me 2 of the "pocket flow meters" to double check my lines with. (the last link of denny's)
i always keep one in my purse for when i travel & one on my home concentrator.
you might ask your company---they gave me mine for free when i complained once about the water bottle leaking my 02 & like dollaraudit i was getting SOB for 2 days (?) before i realized what was wrong.
simple little thing that reads so much more accurate than the level thing on the machine that i have to look at the "perfect angle" to get set right.

When I start having a little difficulty it is a quick check to verify that my 02 flow is correct. I installed mine by cutting the cannula tubing and connecting it about 8" below the connect to the two smaller lines.

Maybe it's because I love in a very rural area, but my oxygen supplier rents to me, presumably based on what my doc ordered, a concentrator and 4 large O2 tanks, and I think 8 portables. They call every month to see how many tanks I need and then deliver them a few days later, and on probably a 6-month basis give the concentrator a quick once over, including checking the oxygen flow. In the last few months, though, it's been more like an every two month delivery since I don't tend to go through my tanks that quickly.

Do most people only have one or the other or do you get them from separate companies? I can't imagine going a year without seeing my oxygen guy. As you noted, they're quick to take their money, which did not go down whether they were making monthly or every other month visits, making me assume that my copay is just for tank/concentrator rental, and they're delivering and swapping out the tanks out of the goodness of their hearts or because my dogs are really cute.
