I'm just so choked at the idiots who come in to work hacking sick and coughing all over the damned place. I work in the hospital system, the supply chain part and we handle everything that goes to the hospital from the wax that goes on the floor to the smallest Band-Aid for the tiniest scrape. Because we are in the hospital system we actually get 18 paid sick days a year. This unusually high amount of sick time is given for the obvious reasons. If you have a small case of the trots you don't need to come in, and you still get paid and no GI infection makes it to anywhere else. Got a cough, why spread it to the patients who's stuff we are handling. Stay home and get paid. Well today there is a guy I work with and he's obviously got a bad chest cold, hacking and coughing deep in his chest. I ask him why he's here and he says he doesn't want to waste his sick time and proudly tells me he's got about 280 hours banked. Once you get to a certain point you can cash out a certain amount of banked sick time at something like 40% and these idiots think it's like some extra pay they can get once a year or so. I had a very serious discussion with him and the result is he decided to go home. I just can't believe these people, they don't give a damn about anyone or the product we're handling and where it's supposed to go to.
If I catch his chest cold I am going to be more than angry.
