I'm just coming out the other side of about a 45 minutes of anxiety that built into a ripping panic attack. Never had one like that before and hoo boy I don't want one again. I knew I had some ativan around and my hands were shaking while I was digging for it, my stomach clenching like the butterflies wanted out, like now! I kept thinking my heart is going to sieze up any second now. I just can't imagine people who have these on a regular basis god bless them. I've had the ativan in me about 10 minutes now and I'm sitting in front of a space heater with a hot cuppa tea right now and the heat is gloriously comforting. I feel much better now even than when I started writing this. All my muscles felt like quivering jelly there for a bit from the back of my neck all the way down to my calves. Some years ago I was treated for GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) which is a lower level of anxiety, say a 5 on the 1 to 10 scale, but lasts many hours. This was much more like a panic attack, like an 8/10 but only lasting 10 minutes or so even though it felt forever. What do you all do for anxiety and do any of you have panic attacks? You panic sufferers now have a special place in my prayers.
