Hi everyone. I haven't had a chance to write in a while since I don't have internet at home. I do still read posts whenever I can get online briefly.
I'm doing great since I got out of the hospital on March 24th. I decided to go back to my apartment and still live alone with my kitties. I started pulmonary rehab a couple of weeks ago. It is very challenging but I can tell a difference in my stamina. It is everything I had heard it would be from you guys.
My evaluation for transplant was rescheduled for May 16th. I think I will be in much better shape than I would have been in March.
I have been started on a new medicine called Dailresp. I had to half the dosage (1/2 pill daily instead of a whole one) cause of severe headaches but it has helped tremendously with eliminating the mucos plugs that used to suffocate me. Now I can just clear my throat and the mucos comes loose.
I am wearing my 02 every mi Ute of every day. I can feel a difference in my heart already. It isn't having to work so hard. No more chest pains and arrythmia. Speaking of work I resigned from post office on April 20th. I never went back to work after the attack I had at work on march 12. Now I am completely dependent on Medicare and Medicaid....very scary. My disability payment is only $6.00 more than my rent so I am having to use my megar savings to pay electric bill. But at least I feel so much better than when I was trying to keep up at work.
Gotta go now cause it's time for my pulmnorary rehab session.
Just wanted y'all to know I'm still hanging in there and that I'm thinking about you.

Pets are so important for most of us...Having my little Snowy gives me Responsibility to Care for Both of Us and forces me to walk daily and get exercise rather than vegetate in front of the TV..lying in bed or on the couch..HA that is why Pulmo Rehab n a home based Low Impact Exercise Regime is very important....Our Brenda here runs an excellent group on her FB Group.
At 18% with Zero Options, i still manage to accomplish many things at my own pace and limitations but i am far from not enjoying a functional lifestyle....Not saying it is easy...In fact every single day is a Challenge....

I am glad you retired from the PO as I think all that dust and junk in the air couldn't have been helping your lungs any.
Many of us are having to live on our SSDI and it is hard to make it stretch! I can't say I ever get "used" to living on such a meager income, but I can say that I am surviving on it.
Of course sometimes my budgeting skills get a real testing on how to make it stretch when the unplanned happens, but it seems i somehow always get thru. Ya got your apartment & kitties & 02; its a start ((((HUGS))))
My internet is one of my "splurges" but it keeps me sane when I can't get out & do anything else. (plus, i couldn't afford cable tv, but with the internet I get netflix so i can watch tv at night :))
