I just had a colonoscopy last month, and I'm so glad that's behind me (pardon the pun!) Every time I have one, I always have 4 polyps that "have the potential to turn cancerous", so they make me have a colonoscopy every 3 years instead of every 5.... bummer!!! But like I tell my son, it's better than the alternative!!!
Good luck on all your procedures!
All the best to you Betsy.

Girlfriend, I will be the first to agree those spinal injections hurt like hell!! I had 3 a few weeks ago, and have to go back the 19th for 3 more, and I am not over the first series!!!
I have a colonoscopy when it is due, and last year he found 5 polyps that could eventual turn into cancer, they were removed, now like higginsp, I have to have one every 3 years, but agree with her it is better than the alternative.
I certainly hope all gets better for you. Get some rest and hope you feel better soon. We need to pray hard for debbear today. This is her surgery day....
Love you sister

what kind of "nerve block" shots do you get?
are they steroids or something different?
as you know i'm still suffering horrid pain in my neck & lower back.
i'm allergic to steroids & the only shots i have EVER been offered is steroid shots in my spine.
since i don't want to die, i chose no shots.
is there some other kind of shot that might help me????
anyone who knows anything about this, please inform me as i'm getting desperate & feel there must be something in this day and age beyond steroids that can help me!!!
sorry, boo, but when i read your list of all your appointments all i thought was, "well, her summer sucks" ;) so glad you have your fun with val in between all these "fun activities" you are going thru (((HUGS))))
You don't know HALF of the other appointments, I have had to go to, or need to still go to, before this surgery. MEGA APPOINTMENTS!!
Reason being, I have copd, ...so need the release from Pulm....and then I need a Psych Evaluation, and then the ones I shared.
It's crazy, but if it enables me to live a healthier and longer life, than I will do ANYTHING!!!
The injections, are administered thru my pain management office. They send me to the office that does the outpatient injections. I think they are called something like "Facet" injections in the spine? All I know, is that they went right into the joint, and injected me with some type of cortisone shot, and I was sedated for it.
I'll look it up and let you know if I can find the entire medical description of what they did, so you know too if I can Jarca..
And yes, I'm trying my best to squeeze in as much fun as possible this summer!!
Boo
Boo, look that up for Jarca, and since I go back on the 19th so they can torture me again, I will also ask the doctor what can be done if one is allergic to steroids....
Enjoy while you can Boo, and I do hope things get better .
Hugs,
Debi
You're the best! I do plan on having fun , amidst all of the crap I have to go to, and get thru. LOL!!
All of this will not keep this good woman down!!
