Its a new approach to lung reduction surgery, using steam to cause scar tissue to form and block off the parts of the lung that are not working and there for allowing the working lung more space to expand and lets the person feel less breathless.

I think that's how it works.

and its done with the bronchoscope so no cutting!

I think it will be a while in the USofA. It says that it's "under clinical investigation" in the US, so gawd only knows what that means (I'm not sure if that's a prelude to clinical trials or a non-American way of saying clinical trials).

I went to the Intervapor website and signed up for any new
trials or studies since I am in California and they are to.

I also posted about another one I found about dissolving the bad tissue.

But this sounds safer as it makes its own blockage to the damaged cells. Who knows maybe the cells will come back to life. :)

It is not yet available in the us yet, The latest info comes from the beginning of this month. so it is still new info.

I think it's used more with people with severe & uncontrolled asthma. I go up to the Cleveland Clinic every 6 months. I guess they do it there too. I don't think it would help me much. I have emphysema. My passages are fine. I need new alveoli :>))

What if you don't have empy and you have limited space// they want me to practice brathing in this tub thing to open up my lungs.
Wonder if this could work for what is wrong with my lungs?

But one thing is I do have scaring....and claping...
they thought I had asma a few times before saying I had COPD.
I have no idea but the next time I see my lung doctor I will ask him what he thinks?

I do believe this treatment is for emphysema
it is lung volume reduction. LVR

damage to the alveoli Saks is the result of emphysema.
Correct me if I'm wrong,

LVR is redirecting the intake of air to the healthier alveoli
Saks in the lungs to expel co2 that the damaged Saks
cannot expel, therefor reducing co2 left in the lungs.
shrinking and closing off the damaged Saks to create more room for the healthier lung to function.
