did they do a DLCO test with your PFT? & what was it's numbers?
did you have a HRCT done on your lungs? & what were the results?
i hacked up crap for 2-3 months after i quit smoking (now i am sooo dry) so be patient there.
What about other allergens that may be in your house or work (dust, mold, pollen, animals.....)
a sleep test tells a lot; if you do an in house one & not just a home 02 test.
sleep apnea & gerd can cause many problems.
also a holter monitor to test your heart for 24 hours tells dr's a lot.
did the anxiety med help?
did the BP med help get your BP down to normal levels?
gnott may have sounded rude, but he is being honest; if we don't take care of our bodies (like i didn't) our bodies won't take care of us.
j.h. had a great suggestion. 12 step programs work wonders for alcohol, drug addiction weight, gambling and so forth as it works on changing our old ways that are causing us harm. (and they are free!!!)
of course no program works unless the person really wants to change....and there is no easy way to do that.
i wish the best for you, but don't blame the dr as there are sooooo many diseases that a pcp has to try to track down --- and all the tests can really run up some money!
you say you lost "some" weight & you "tried" to exercise more; for me i have to "make" myself eat healthy & "force" myself to exercise more---and it's hard, so i understand, but i want to be independent for as long as i can and no one promised me it would be easy.
my sister was overweight & dr's just seemed to focus on that. it wasn't until she got tough & asked for testing to be done that they found what was wrong with her; so i can empathize with you.
my prayers are with you!!!
No kind of CT scan. She wants me to do a sleep study sometime. Wouldn't give me anything for anxiety - just told me to see a psychiatrist. I'm not allergic to anything that I know of but of course without testing who can be sure. My nasal passages were inflamed but that could have been just the smoking or something else.
A few days ago it seemed my breathing was getting better but yesterday and today it seems worse again. I don't know whether the pft test means I can completely rule out copd (according to doctor it does). I just wish I could sleep better recently. Thanks for the suggestions and support.
