I think Neuromuscular electrical stimulation is a very good tool.
This is very good information.
Good Posting.
wonder if the tazer would work?
j/k!!!
Electrical stimulation is used as in enhancement and as a last resort...
so if you can keep walking:) its the better for the whole body.
But like Margaret,
I have heard that when Christopher Reeves was having physical therapy at home and Electrical stimulation was a part, his wife began using it too and said it was Great:)

"Up to a third of patients with COPD undertaking exercise training do not show the expected gain in functional status or muscle function. "
I cannot imagine anything more frustrating then to work out and see the expected improvements. This might help that 1/3 who are not helped as much by standard exercise and level the field a bit more realistically.
but its also its important to remember that movement helps the whole body. It helps circulate blood, digestion, and mental status etc.
Even when in the wasting stage movement in the form of some sort of exercise is very important and patients feel better as a result and dont break down as quickly.
So we move / exercise / perform ADLS to what our personal abilities are and always take pride in what we CAN do . It's the total stop of everything that takes us out in the end.
Thanks!
But it is interesting what you found.
I didn't say I know stuff, so i never heard of this type of stimulation?
