I am being evaluated for possible lung reduction. Does anyone know anyone that has had this done?

I had lvrs done in Dec 2010. I have COPD in my left lung.It was hyper inflating and pushing against my right lung &heart. I can try and answer any questions you might have.

No I wish I could have it done they said I would not be a canidate for that hope u get enough information. Best of luck !!

I know this is not a cure but did it help you? I have to go see another lung doc and a heart doc to see if I can qualify as a canidate just have the Cleveland Clinic see me. It is a little scary just thinking about having some of my lung removed. With the trouble I am having you would think it would make it worse.

I think it would be worth your time to talk to them. Do have a long list of questions in hand. You don't have to commit that day, but you would have more expert information. We have a gal here sassyme (she just isn't here often). She had LVRS surgery a few years ago. I have spent time with her and when I do, she runs circles around me. She told me she was on oxygen 24/7 before her surgery. Pattiruf would be an excellent resource for you!

I am new here and am going through the discussios and came across yours. Hope this helps. I have had the lung reduction surgery and it worked great for me. I was able to go off o2 entirely for about 5 years,then i started needing o2 again so i am now on o2 24/7 now and they will not let have another lung reduction surgery.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
