Things are really moving along for me. I have my Lung capacity test set now, since Cardiologist said i was ok to have it done now, that my heart checked out ok. I have it this Thursday, the 18th. Then i see pulmonologist on April 29th, during the day, and then my 2nd half of my sleep study that same night!

Only thing left that i want to do, is Pulmonary Rehab, and to continue with my physical therapy. Also i want to do aquatic therapy.

I'm going to use my spagmometer, the thingy that you get from the hospital, and blow into it, so the little blue ball moves up? Yeah, that thing. I'm going to use it 10 times per day. That's what they told me to do in the hospital, and I haven't used it at all! My breathing is not where is should, and i am nervous, because i'm sick of being on this darn oxygen! I want off!!!!

Planning on trying my best to improve my lung function.!!!

(these smoking commercials on tv now, are really gross, but they certainly make their point on why we shouldn't smoke!!! )

Good luck to you! I've been in rehab since February 25th this year and it has helped me so much. Work hard and it will help you a lot.

Good luck with your tests. I started rehab last fall at the local hospital, and finished up in December. I'm now in the next step of the program where I go to the gym for supervised exercise 3 days per week. It's really hard work, but if you stick with it, it can make a really big difference. When I started, I need O2 most days of the week. Now, I only use it when I exercise. I hope it goes as well for you, and you are O2 free by end of summer!

I wish my Pulm would recommend me for Pulmonary Rehab. She seems to think I'm doing "too good" at this point to be taking it. I wish she would look at it more as helping to keep me well, instead of using it to help improve my condition once I get worse. I thought about changing Pulm's, but I really like her and she has done good by me except for that one thing. Doctors.....

Good luck on your test, and I know you will enjoy rehab.

Higgensp, your doctor may be right, here you have to have a very low lung volume number to qualify for pulmonary rehab. I do not know how it is where you are.So if you are doing good, that is great, ...you can exercise at home.

Tests, tests, tests. Just had 4 myself in 2 days. Now I have to have angioplasty on both right and left sides of my heart.Have to call Hospital to schedule PFT, stress test and whatever else they have in store for me. On the plus side, it lests you know if you have any other problems you may not know about. Good luck Boo.

Boo, we can fret together, I have a breathing test on Monday myself at 11am my time, and I haven't been as diligent as I should have been with the spagmometer either. The pulmonary rehab and physical therapy will help you greatly in breathing, just keep it up. Please take care, Bill

Good luck! If you have a sleep number bed, you will never want to leave it! They are SOOO comfy!!
