I guess as usual, most people stay in their little ignorant reality when it comes to questioning the advise and direction from their doctor. I wrote something about this and had two responses. The "do no harm"is totally foreign to most drs. About 100,000 are killed every year with drs mistakes. I don;t know how many were hurt. I am 81 and have to say in all my yrs drs have been helpful about 10 % of the time. True our technology is outstanding, but for everyday disorders they are pretty much useless. "Take this pill, go home and that as ;many times as not the side effects are worse then the original problem. My major frustration in life in these later yrs has been the medical system in general. But, my surprise is the little interest people have in this topic.
At least one should ask what does this pill do, what are the side effects, and anything else that may be relevant. Try to get a second opinion, often suggested and you may be surprised at what happens. Anyhow, for your own well being be assertive and ask questions even if you think they are dumb questions. There are no dumb questions!

Information is power.
It is important that we know as much as we can about our medical problems and the medications we take.

I agree we need to question when prescribed medicines. Drug compatibility is another thing we should be aware of I think.
I think some of the time the communication between doctor and patient can be problematic.

Doctors do rush us thru sometimes but we really need to let them know that you need just a frew minutes more of their time.
This is a good reminder for almost anyone, Some are really astute at communicating with their doctors. Those are the ones that will pass over your topics so don't feel bad that "no one" is listening. Probably more pay attention than you realize.

I've responding to similar posts before and my concluding statement is, I have to trust, because unless I'm in the medical profession, I'm ignorant!
Today in a third world country i find it completely hopeless to get any patient/doctor relationship going because number 1 they know very little about anything except family doctoring and then its all about how much you are prepared to pay them...
So im 50/50 on any opinion here..

PS: Since I don't go to doctors very rarely, it's been over 2 years, I'll hold my opinion about them.
