Ibuprofen news

I saw this article regarding Ibuprofen. I was taking about the same amount of ibuprofen for back problems that was suggested in the Ibuprofen study our good buddy Gwapo posted. I haven't taken it for a while now but It got me hoping that I had already been doing something good. I guess like anything else with COPD, it effects everybody differently. I'll keep looking for more information about this.

Studies come and go...I don't pay much attention to them unless or until they show positive results. I wouldn't take ibuprofen just because it's being done in a study. Please be careful.

Too much Ibuprofen can cause a fatty liver, or increased liver enzymes. If you are to be starting an Ibuprofen therapy regimen, consult with your Primary and be HONEST about the amount that you are taking, He/she will want to order routine blood labs at regular intervals to check your liver enzymes. I am not sure of the time frame for that, but regular testing will be needed.

Ibuprophen is a member of the nsaid family, which is not a good family to know. It can cause bleeding, ulcers, and gastroproblems, and like Imarighter said, you should not take something just because a study is being done. My reg doc and pulmy would never allow me to take ibu or and nsaid. I do a small asprin therapy, and that is not every day...,be careful
