HELLO my peeps!

Non-COPD related, but just wanted you all to know, that my Bariatric Dr's office gave me a surgery date today!!

I having gastric bypass surgery on October 29th.

I am on a partial liquid diet, until Oct 5th. I drink 4-5 shakes per day, with a balance meal of 5 ounces of protein and veggies. I can have sugar free jello, popsicles, broth, Crystal light and water throughout the day.

The idea/ goal is to lose the weight, and to shrink the liver, prior to surgery enabling the surgeon to be able to 'see" better, when they do the surgery.

As long as insurance approves it, and I stick to this program, I'm good to go! I start the partial liquid diet on Monday!

Nope, can't put any fruit in shakes. No fruit allowed in this. I drink a shake, that is GLUCOSE REDUCED, then have protein and veggies for dinner, that's it. I can have suger free popsicles, sugar free jello, broth, crystal light, and water. No milk, no whole grains, or fruit.

Wish me luck, this is the toughest part!

Good luck my friend. The diet does not sound to bad. But I would have thought fruit would be good for you, then I remembered working at a nursing home and one diabetic resident kept running hi sugar count and we did not know why, till we discovered his family was sneaking in fruit to him!!

Good for you Boo, diet sounds like my everyday one...it's healthy and you get use to it...LOL I forgot it you said, but are you pre-diabetic?

Grannie, Nope, I am not diabetic at all. I guess the Glucose Controlled Boost, is the shake they usually tell people to use.

Today and tomorrow, is basically the last day for anything fried, LOL!! I may "feed this cold", and get a calzone or pizza tonight and say "GOODBYE".....
