I am on 3or4 liters 24/7. My girl friend and I went out to dinner and then dancing. This took obout 4 hours. All this time I did not have my o2 turned on. This has happened about 5 or 6 times. I have read where the last person to know they do not have their oxygen turned on is the person themselves. Why I don't know. What tips me off ususally is I start to get a headache. When I finally notice my o2 is not turned on my oxymeter reads in the 70's. Not good huh.

Definitly not a good thing. Some consider me a a bit of a type A personality when it comes to monitoring my O2. After watching a video of a person in severe hypoxia laughing and thoroughly enjoying himself
I figured that it pays to be a mite concerned about it. Hopefully no serious damage was done...

No, in my opinion a reading of 70 would definately not be good. I have been told different things, but usually your organs began wanting o2 if it gets below 90, with 90 being ok, but 80 not being ok. But it depends on the person also and what your o2 normally is at. But 70 does not sound good.

Does it have an alarm that says no o2 or something?

I know this sounds crazy, but when I put my nasal thingy on at night..........I put it up to my mouth first (not in - just up to it).....I can feel the o2 flow........I can't feel it in my nose.................

I do this because once upon a time, it wasn't (forget why now)..........and I never realized it, even though machine was on.......I wasn't getting anything.

I also now realize that when my o2 drops below 80 (which it does often:(.........the inside of my finger tips turn blue (not my nails -as I always thought.

Sorry Dogman....didn't mean to steal your thread..............but ya might try to get into the habit of putting the nasal thing close to your mouth and see if you can feel the o2.

I do that several times a day. Guess I'm not as weird as I thought or we both are :>)) Dogman 70 is not cool, but you didn't keel???? I would've.

Denny, I can tell by your picture you're a type 'A' personality. So am I. They say we can be hard to live with? Who the frack says??????

Deb. that's probably more common than you know - putting the 02 cannula near your lips to feel its flow. I do the same thing all the time - my concentrator is too noisy not to hear it, but sometimes the tubing gets disconnected so I tend to check.

If you have grandchildren, cleaning women or even an ornery (murderous) husband, I've found that I should check it. I was kidding about the murderous husband. Don't know what I'd do without him :>))
