I shared this on my Support Group and thought maybe some here could benefit from it.......

When i originally heard about Hospice or Palliative Care, it conjured up images like my time was up and it was the end days, so i avoided reading about it and when friends who did go in, passed on, it only made me more determined to avoid the subject.
So it came as a shock when my new pulmo mentioned it to me after my recent stay....Meanwhile i did some research before i gave a yes or no. To my surprise it is not exactly what i imagined.........So basically here is a brief explain and the link........

I've read so much about the toll caretaking takes on family members (in rare circumstances will they have the required expertise). I've made it clear that I choose to have a professional caretaker as they have the wherewithall to provide my needs without the emotional drain. My child owes me nothing - its not fair to their life or their family's lives. I understand especially financialy the choice of a professional service may not be an option. I'm trying to make sure I squirrel enough away to make this possible.

Caretaking my husband & my mother was an honor, not a burden. Difficult? Oh yes, especially considering my own health issues. But I would not have had it any other way.

Be sure, sweetie, what your loved ones feelings really are.I know I would been hurt badly had either refused hospice care at my home. And it meant everything to be by their side when they passed.

Hi again, this to Peter that yes I understand about that new fev1 number, but the test will be done. I don't want to end up with a wheel chair or the like, but need to really build up legs again. I don't know the answer, and I realize this disease has only one way to go, that is down. I just do not want to go with it...
