high prioriy oximeter

I've been on oxygen for about 3 plus yrs. In that time, I have had a oxygen tank loose its pressure (liquid). I use 3 or 4 liters and could not figure out why my reading was so low. ie 2 on the meter. I tried a number of things trying to figure out what was wrong. Finally found it had lost its pressure. I have had the tubing disconnect numerous times.I have had the moisture glass not screwed on right. A number of other happenings I cannot remember at the moment. My point is With out a oximeter I would not have known what was happening.I've had these problems both with gas and liquid oxygen. I use very different levels of oxygen when being active as opposed to just sitting at the computer. Without the oximeter I would not have picked up on these changes. One should as much as possible be between 3 and 4 on the meter.Waiting until I got a headache or some other indication I was low on oxygen I don't think is a good idea.

Another useful tool is a flow-meter that can be plugged into the end of the tube where the cannula plugs in. Can't have too many tools in the tool kit. Many times I was able to quickly discover that the lid on the humidifier water container was screwed on incorrectly and leaking. I also have used it to find that the 50' hose was leaking and I was past time to replace it.
