Healthier Living helps with managing chronic conditions
Rural Solutions, through a grant from the Colorado Health Foundation, is offering Healthier Living classes in Sterling.
Developed at Stanford University and now offered in Sterling, the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program is getting folks from all walks of life on the path to fully managing their health conditions like emphysema, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, COPD, diabetes, fibromyalgia to name a few. Gathering with friends, neighbors and two trained leaders once a week for six weeks, you'll learn skills you can use every day for the rest of your life to manage your condition.
You can keep doing the things you want to do and even start doing some things you used to do and enjoy. Learn tools to manage fatigue, pain, stress, and depression. Learn about healthy eating, using your mind to manage symptoms, and working with your health care provider. Realize just how much you can do for yourself and those around you in Healthier Living Colorado.
The class meets at 115 N. Fifth Ave., Sterling, on Monday evenings. Next class will be Sept. 24, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A light snack will be provided. Call Rural Solutions at (970) 526-3616 to sign up.

This is a great program.
I know that many of us don't have access to Pulmonary Rehab or classes like noted above in beautiful Colorado,
but everyone here has access to the internet where there are lots of up lifting web sites and youtube exercises we can do at home, or we can just use our feet and begin walking, at our own pace.
If we just sit, our quality of life and our strength to breath become less and less,
but the good news its that its never ever too late to begin moving again and moving brings back to a happier and stronger quality of life.
