The importance of vitamin D to many brain processes including neuroimmunomodulation and neuroplasticity suggests that it might have a role in psychiatric illness such as depression. The biological plausibility of the association between vitamin D and depressive illness has been strengthened by the identification of vitamin D receptors in areas of the brain implicated in depression.
Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency is particularly high in COPD patients, increases with the severity of COPD, and is closely associated with osteoporosis prevalence.
My stationery bike is in the garage and today is warm enough to use it - must get a heater to use in there for the future.
I have been isolated due to viruses and other conditions. Can't wait until spring although I don't want to wish any of this life away.

Vitamin D supplements can reduce chronic obstructive pulmonary disease lung disease flare-ups by over 40 percent in patients with a vitamin D deficiency, according to new research. COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) includes conditions such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Flare-ups of chronic bronchitis and emphysema (COPD) can be debilitating for patients, sometimes leading to hospitalisation and even death. Our research has shown how an inexpensive vitamin supplement can significantly reduce the risk of flare-ups for patients who are vitamin D deficient.

Not wishing my life away but wishing snow ice cold brrrrrrr's
away.
with these cold and gloomy days i have a tendency to just curl up in my blanket and be a "chair potato".
best thing i ever invested in was a treadmill so i could walk in the winter; now i need to get back in the routine of using it daily!
i get the winter blues & i take vit d; not sure if it helps or not, but
my dr does yearly blood work & tests me for Vit D & prescribes the dose i need to take (which i buy OTC) --- my dr also said to take D3 as it helps to support calcium that i also need.
some vitamins are water soluble (like the B's) and any extra will wash out of your system (pretty color urine sometimes)
other vitamins like D, A, E etc can build up in your system & have bad side effects.
