I have seem many mentions of difficulty sleeping. My problem is excessive sleep. I sleep 11-13 hours a night [ plus still take a nap in the afternoon ] and still have trouble dragging myself out of bed
The doctors, of course, have no idea why. They have done all the normal tests, anemia, etc., done complete heart tests. There was a time when my arthritis cause me to take a sleeping aid to even get to sleep. Needless to say, I don;t take them anymore.
There are days like yesterday when I only slept 8-9 hours, played 18 holes of golf and did some additional work around the house. I took a 2 hour nap early evening and then slept for 12 hours overnight.
I also thought that it may be emotional, but trust me, I am really tired!
All suggestions welcome?
P.S. Also would like to know if any of you feel the nebulizer actually helps?. It is one of those things that I some times think doctors order just because the "book" says to

Just wandering if you have been tested for sleep apnea? A 24 hour pulse oximetry monitor would reveal this as well as check your o2 sats throughout the 24 hour period and monitor your pulse and cardiac rhythms.
It would be good to find out for your own peace of mind, health and wellbeing.

Like the others say, mayhaps a sleep study is needed. You can lie in bed for 10 hours and come out tired. Thats what was happening to me. O2 fixed that.
I'm not 100% sold on the nebulizer either. Usually it is prescribed if the PFT shows a positive response to abuterol. Mine was only a few points, but I'll bow to his judgement. A few points are worth the slight effort...
