She is doing well on it, the valves still in trial stage the video mentions but I think it looks promising.

I wonder if it the valves can be taken out again in case a real cure comes along. I am calling a real cure one that repairs the damage.

This sure isn't as scary as the method used now. Either stapling or removing damaged sections of lung sounds so permanent..

That looks like the values they used in the Spiration Trial that Anna and I went through. They sold the company and the outcome trial results were not that great. Anna wanted to go ahead with the valves and her doctor talked her out of it.

to bad it didn't work out as well as they hoped, and good that those little devices were removable..

Thanks Peta, your link was successful. My computer just wasn't accepting the posted link and I have given up trying to understand the mood of "the boss".

Haven't read much about the valve in recent months. Guess they are trying to ramp up some improvements but birdlady is right, it is designed for a specific COPD patient.

The valves can be removed if you want them out. My most serilous concern with the values (I held one in my hand and examined it closely) is they have three very sharp prongs that lodge into wherever they put them. they put in few, I don't know how many. My lungs are already so compromised I was concerned what further damage would be done to my lungs if they did need to remove them. I was glad I was placed in the placebo group. When the trial was over my pulmonolist suggested that I did not get them. I was interested in the stents but I haven't seen good results on them either.

I wonder if they figured out a way to anchor the little devices with out the wires that in the lung in a way to cause damage.

If they could figure out how to use these devices with out causing further damage it would be really great.
