I read in a grocery store flyer that you need to replace your nebulizer (compressor) every 6 months to be sure you get your full dose of medication. Does anybody know if that is true.

never heard that. makes no sense to me.

some do have a filter thingy in them....that needs replacing every so often. but a compressor is just a machine...should be good for a long time.

Yeah. That has to be it. The wording on the ad was ambiguous but I remember the the kit has to be replaced every 6 months. Thanks

My DME supplier has me change my neb kit every 2 weeks! And luckily my insurance covers it, so it must not be that unusual.

Don't forget to soak the pieces of your neb kit in a vinegar/water solution every few days to keep it sanitized. Soap and water is good for the rest of the time.

they just told me to soak it in the vinegar...

nothing about throwing it away! yikes!
