Be sure to check the rating of facilities you are considering at the above link.
Also, you may be able to get various types of help through your local United Way, county government or local churches.
Hugs.
Community or online service to help you i.e.reduce the searching for you and recommend based on your requirements. I think once you've chosen a new community to live in; the rest will fall into place.
Take care both of you.
Things that I want friends and family to have.
Barely a dent, but every little bit seems to help.

The name maybe misleading, but they have resources for moms and/or dads. When I emailed them (I was looking for a place for me), I ended up actually talking to a person! They are very responsive and quickly too. Do take some of the pressure off of you guys and let someone help you with your decision.
The thought of moving is scary to me. I love my home, but I could live with less property to manage.
My home & everything is paid for, so for financial reasons I stay also. When I looked into smaller places, rent or buying, I couldn't find anything I likes or that I feel I could afford. Renting would be nice, having someone else take care of things that break, but not very "secure" feeling & rents are atrocious in my area (cheaper to buy a house)
so-
I hope to stay in my home, but realized that the crap needs to be sorted in case I ever have to move or if I die my kids don't need to be left with a bunch of needless things.
I started "purging" 2 years ago & I'm still working on getting rid of "needless things"---
I know I've put a huge dent in "stuff" but sometimes I feel like crap multiplies in my sleep.
As I continue to clear out my sheds, I wonder to myself; why did I save all this crap?
And why did I save EVERY receipt in boxes for "tax proof" dating back to 1994!!! (as my mother did also---so I'm doing boxes of hers too)
I sure can relate to this subject. Life does take it's path and are we ever 'ready' for it.
on the good side, those days I feel like not doing anything, I can sit in my chair with a box of papers, a trash can & my shredder & get something "accomplished" LOL
In 2013 my wife n myself arrived back in Melb. Airport with only 2 suitcases and fair enough we had some savings in my bank....We caught a bus to the Shared Accommodation room we booked online before we left........next day we went out an bought a cheap car as in OZ you NEED a car to get around, esp in the outer suburbs.....
Once i did the usual running around and finally found a good doc to write out my scripts...the next 6 months was very hard, for my wife especially....living in a small room n house sharing with others.
Almost 2 years on we now have our own unit, great health care n resources and our own baby...Snowy...
So once you make or are forced to make the dreaded move, then give it your best shot and usually it will work out for the better.....
Peter
Big Hugs...
But I am blessed to have a son and daughter only a couple of hours away, but it is still up to me to get rid of this accumulated mess.
I signed a quit claim deed which gives my home to my daughter the instant I stop breathing, so no one can touch it. She and her husband paid off the mortgage for me when I had to retire and could no longer work. They bought out my son's contribution, since he does not want the house, and they consider it an investment. Mark is on disability.
I had yard sales, garage sales, and now just down to personal momentos and a garage full of things she or my son may want. Mostly theirs any way and some things I want them to have.
It is not easy, letting strangers go thru your stuff, and it is hard just to downsize and think of moving to a smaller place.
My kids brought that up to me also, but I want them to be able to visit me in this house, and I hope to die in this house. It is lonely getting old, regardless of how many people are around you.
So if you get the chance for a change, go for it, if that will truly make you happy.
BJ
