Again, just me, but true friends remain that way and it is sad when you discover that some can not be that way.
You are a lovable person and I know that time will bring you the best of friends always.
Love, Cindy
To answer your question, no I dont get anger or depressed. I do remember about 43 years ago I was angry for a short time and it was terrible and I refuse to do it again.
Im the gal in the grocery store that talks to everyone in line, that is the way I was raised.
So Boo just make some new friends, they are everywhere and you can choose which ones.
Just my humble opinion; but it is how we express our anger that matters. I would not want to hurt another. Sometimes we all have trouble controlling our emotions (I know I do). I wish you the best.
Yep, depression and anger are part and parcel of the diagnosis. Everything from the "it's not fair" anger to the blackest of depression is readily available to me use. I ended up on antidepressants for a while when I was first diagnosed. I got past it after about 6 months or so.
I still get angry and depressed when I find myself unable to do something I could before or suddenly get tired and SOB for what I assume is no special reason.
Tis one of the good reasons for me to spend time here. It keeps me out of myself and my problems.
That all being said, there is no valid reason for having to put up with any kind of assault from anyone. Ever...
Hugs,
Dennis
I'm sorry this has happened to you:((:(
I am a very understanding, and sweet to my friends that I have. The one that did not keep in touch with me, when i moved to Indiana 3 yrs ago, is the one that i had the problem with.
Out of sight out of mind? Well, she decided to just give me her opinion, and judge me, and call me names, and make me feel awful! I just wanted to agree to disagree, but she's obviously not capable of that.
I even went as far as saying, "listen..with all of the terrible trouble the people in Oklahoma are going thru, why are we arguing about stupid stuff?
So, my "REAL" friends on DS...I thank you. Another lesson learned in my 51 years of life, and I keep learning, and keep on ticking!
Love,
Boo
So, bye bye forever...On to bigger and better things!
Boo
As for anger and depression:
I had more anger and depression before my diagnosis, when I was feeling lousy and not knowing why?
Now that I have been diagnosed with COPD , and am being treated for it, all my physical and emotional energy is focused on beating it. Or at least learning to live a quality life with my restrictions.
I don't feel sorry for myself or look at my condition as unfair. It is just another one life's hurdles, and challenge to overcome.
I prey you feel better and can stay positive!
Gary
Go for it kiddo.
Terry
Anger and frustration and depression are all part of this craziness we call COPD. I think in some sense we all experience it.
We just gotta figure out how to handle it.
I don,t have time to play self pity, I am to busy trying to survive and live as long as I can.
I am sorry someone hurt you that you considered a friend. We do not need folks like that around us, and as much as it hurts, you are better off with out her. A true friend would be there as much as possible, in letters, phone calls, something, to build you up, not tear you down.
I agree with what has been said by other members, that true friends will not do that to you.
So keep on living, laughing, and loving my friend, and the one's that do not want to join you, that is their loss.
Brenda
As many have responded; anger is normal; and can be a symptom of depression and frustration. Blessings to you.
Something I've learned is that not all friendships are meant to last and I refuse to waste my very limited time here on earth on people who just aren't worth it. If someone really cares, they'll accept me as I am. If not, well...goodbye.
