He was truly an altruistic soul and was a source of comfort to the many people that were seeking an explanation that would comfort some of the fear about COPD.
To his family I wish for the peace and comfort of knowing that Dennis did serve as wonderful friend to all on the COPD board.
God Bless You All,
Love,
Anna
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Somehow I found the strength to keep going.
The deeper the love - the deeper the loss.
Somehow I know you will find the strength.
Take good care of yourself.
Love, prayers, and hugs,
J
He gave each and every one of us the strength and courage to fight this evil monster we all share and carry with us on our backs 24/7. His own personal pain did not stop him from putting another who was ill at ease with the complexities of this maddening illness at ease about the situation.. Calmly, he would go beyond, whatever he had to do, to make someone understand the answer to what he/she had asked of him. To be quite honest with you, I thought he was part of DS. I was dumbfounded when I realized that he was just like us, you and I!
For the both of us, it didn't take very long to realize we were more than merely "online acquaintances". Denny Gene was like a brother to me. In fact, he was a Brother in COPD to each and every one of us For that, I offer this song in tribute to Dennis:
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"

I love you big guy. You're up there with Bill, P2K (Lynn), and all of the others who have passed on before us. Remember when I asked Bill to save me a seat next to him? Well, you're in that sear now, so save me the seat in between the two of you!
Till we meet in Heaven, RIP! Jim

I am so sorry to hear of Dennis passing. I know he is in Heaven with no more pain and suffering. I am very sad. I am praying for you that you will find peace and comfort. You were a wonderful wife and stood beside him the whole time. May God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.
Love You,
Debi
He helped so many here at DailyStrength, and although I don't post much anymore, I did come and read, and Dennis always was kind and thoughtful and gave very sound advice to everyone. He was a good man.
