Dealing With Hot, Humid Air
While there are a few people whose COPD symptoms improve in humid weather,
most people's symptoms flare up on days of high heat, humidity, or smog.
This can especially be an issue when a front moves in, bringing humidity, says Make. "A lot of people with COPD tell you that they know when a front is going to come through," he says.
So on the hottest and most humid days of the year, stay indoors in an air-conditioned environment to prevent a flare-up of your symptoms. "If it is a high-pollution day, we suggest [that our COPD patients] stay inside and limit their activities
Here in Pennsylvania our heat index is going to hit 100 to105 that's hot and I know many of you are having hots days like this too.
Please remember to drink lots of water, stay inside with air conditioning.
If you don't have air conditioning, head to the mall, or library or maybe a friends house who has air conditioning.
If you don't have air conditioning in your car maybe call a friend to pick you up and maybe spend the day with you in a cool place.
Stay cool and comfortable, use a wash cloth dipped in cool to cold water to cool off face and arms etc.
Make sure your using your meds as prescribed.
If you get over heated and need help call 911.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? .It is 11am here in Indiana and already 86F out. Thank-goodness I have central air condition. With the high humidty i must stay inside most of the time. I do try to go out periodically just to stay acculamated to the weather. That way when I must go out it isnt so bad

A month or so ago, I had spoken to a Dr. about Stem Cell Therapy for COPD (quite expenisive out of pocket procedure). He said I needed to be on at least 5000 IU's of Vitamin D daily. So I started doing 4000 IU's for the time being. He said that helps with the breathing, Not sure if it is the Vitamin D or the Aloe Caps that I take that seem to be helping. Last year I stayed out of the hospital for 11 months (pretty good for a COPD'er), and I credit the Aloe Caps for that.

In the summer, I do my best to schedule my appointments in the morning; as I have NO air conditioning in my car. It is amazing how hot in can get inside a car. So glad I do not live in the South, as the humidity and heat are much worse than where I live.
We get hot Summers; 90 to 110 degrees. I have to have an air conditioner, so I had to buy one, as low income Senior & Disabled complex that I live in----provides no air. Air conditioner is in my living room; leaving my bedroom very hot; so I run a fan in there.

Temperatures have been higher than normal for this time of

I could stay in all the time, but I have to get out some in the
