It is an alternative medical treatment that has been around since the 1950's. A google of chelation therapty will get you a lot of info. It is an intravenous treatment given in a doctor's office that supposedly flushes toxic metals out of the cells. People say they get very good results in correcting high blood pressure, among other major diseases.

I am going to go to an MD that gives the treatments starting next week. I'll let you know if it gets rid of my high blood pressure.

we have a great doc. and my husband has severe copd for about 1 year now and i believe him when he says things like diet will not make much diff. if trying it makes you feel positive then do so but please continue to see a doc. as well.

MamaMarg, I am doing chelation for emphysema and blood pressure. It isn't for one more than the other. I just happen to have both as medical issues.

I did a literature search to try and add some data to this discussion..but I could find no trials/evidence on chelation therapy and COPD..KarenNevada..keep us posted on how you are doing

Hi, i'd like to know if this works. My Mum has recently been told she has a clot or plug on her brain, well the artery & it is too high up to operate so she's going to try this therapy. Would like to know if it actually works before she goes forking out a lot of money which she doesn't have. Thanks Angelynne

Are you going to take the oral Chelation Therapy, or IV? I read where it is safe, and you don't need a doctor perscription. Sounds ok. But I don't know anyone persoally who use it.

I am currently chelating and also hydrogen peroxide IV therapy. The doc is also going to start me on a new IV next week that heals the tissue around the heart so he thinks it will help with the lungs. I am also about to start herbal and clinical nutrition therapy. Look into WEI institute. I am mostly taking the alternative route, but I am currently also on Anoro and QVAR. My lung specialist feels confident that since I am 46 that we can get the aveoli opened up. I pray I do not have to stay on them long term, that is my goal. Best wishes!!!
