bloody nose

I saw that a few others had bloody noses also with the use of o2. I regularly get a bloody nose in my right nostril. I do have a water bottle on the 02 tank, but I use the portable quite a lot. I am on liquid 02. I live in NM with is very dry. I guess that really says it all, but if you have any ideas please let me know. The nose bleeds are easy to stop. I just stick a peace of toilet paper, or paper towel up my nose for a while and it stops. I am trying cutting the right side of the cannula so the air hits in a different place. I tried putting the putting the cannula in my mouth, but one tends to slobber that way. Anyhow if anyone has any ideas, I would like to hear them. I don't like walking around with a piece of toilet paper hanging out of my nose.

Get some humidifiers. My Doc says to keep the humidity about 40-45%. I tried the bottle thing, but didn't like it. I noticed mold growing in the tubing. I keep a small humidifier by my bed. Works for me :>)

During the winter time when you have to turn on heat is when I start with the nose bleeds. The sinus go into full mode. I also walk around with toilet paper in my nose. And don't blow you nose when someone is with you it scares them to death. :)

Using the humidifier on the concentator is a plus and naturally if using the portable there is no humidity on it and the drying out of the nose will happen. Even in using a air conditioner in summer will dry out the nasal passages.
I would think trying to use the 02 in the mouth would be concern due to possible germs leading to infection..
I certainly would consult with my doctor about the freg nose bleeds.
Changing tubing once a month would prevent the mold.
