Not sure about depression...I find it impossible to control.....I wish we had open chatrooms here....its a great way to spend live time together when feeling so lost and down..

I'm not sure, but I think that some of the immunosupressives you have to be on post-transplant can make the bones very brittle, so if you're starting out with bad bones already, it might make it impossible to give you the anti-rejection drugs.

I am so sorry to hear that, and I do know how you feel. The transplant team I worked with said the transplant will make osteoporosis worse, because of the mega doses of steroids a person has to take. My rejection was not for that reason, but because I was to worried about things, guess I asked to many questions. But rehab and any impact (walking) execises and weight lifting are suppose to be good for the bones. So maybe if you take more calcium , and a med for that like fosmax or something, you can build up your bone density? I also have osteo of the hips and spine and trying to keep it at bay, while taking pain shots of steroids , is like fighting a tornado with a wet noodle.
Please do not get discouraged or depressed. Talk with your doctor about building up your bones if possible, ...I think that should have been addressed with you at the first, when the testing was done.
Talk to him about the LVR surgery also, and ask him about it reversing its self after 4 years. Stay the course on the exercises, and stay in touch with your pulmy doctor. But in reality, I do not know how brittle your bones are, but the doctors should have talked to you about that earlier in the game. So sorry for your bad news.Yes, I know I repeated that !! But I just do not understand why they were not treating you all this time, and to wait until the last step and say no!! God Bless You

I'm sorry that you found this out. Please know, we're here for you. I know that doesn't make things change, but hopefully knowing you have a family here, that cares about what happens to you, and loves you no matter what, it may help relieve some of the depression.

I know that words don't make things better, but hoping that these messages will uplift your spirits a bit more.

I'll echo Boo's reply. Do not let this put you into such deep depression that you give up on us. We'll all be out here and just talking I know helps make me feel better' Also I am not ashamed to admit that my doctor, as this disease has progressed, has me on both an anti-depressant and an anxiety reliever. The latter relaxes you a lot. The first helps keep you from getting too down on life's events.
