ok well I DID IT! My oxgen level was 97 doc said that was great, how ever I
also had a chest x ray done and go bk nx thursday, to find out about that and then something about blowing in a tube. I don;t feel out of the woods yet, but havinga little more faith and you ppl here on ds has help me so much. Trust me when I say I would not have gone to the doc if I had not had some serious feed bk. and soooooo much support. god bless each and everyone of you! will keep you in form on every thing

Good to hear that you went. The blowing in the tube is the Spirometry test. But even if you have the beginnings of COPD, I doubt if you'll need O2 with those pulse oximetry levels. That's great! 97% is a reading that most of us would love! Let us know how next week goes. Hugs, Sue

Yayyyyyyyyyy....Thats awesome news girl....No worries about the test....You just get to blow your head off into a tube that measures your intake and output....Its a breeze....I agree with Sue....With your levels being that good O2 is probably not in your near future....Excellent....With the right meds you will no doubt feel like a new woman and back to your regular routine before you know it...Gosh I am so proud of you....Way to go.....Thank you so much for the update too...lol I have been waiting....Huge Hugs....

I am so happy for you! and a 97 O2 level. Geez, I don't register anywhere near that and I'm on oxygen 24/7. ha.

Great Job!!! You have a high reading at 97.
The only time I am 97 is with my oxygen on.

The next test is easy. You just do what the
technician tells you. Ask for a copy of it.
I started doing that a few years ago. I wish
I had done it from the beginning. That way
you can compare each test you have.

I agree. 97% is wonderful. You probably won't need O2. Ask for copies of your test results. You have a right to them. Keep them in a 3 ring binder or folder. It is a good idea to ask your doctor for a copy of all your test results. Best wishes and good luck. I'm sure you will get good results.

I forgot. If your dr. suggests pulmonary rehab, say yes. You will learn so much that will benefit you and help you in the future. It is an outpatient class which includes exercise and classroom learning. So helpful to all of us who had it.

I am so glad your were at 97 - but just curious what test did you have to do? I am recently diagnosed with COPD and don't go to the pulmonary doctor for the 1st time until nex week - thanks.

It's so nice to hear about your Great News!! I am excited for you. I had the blow test too just a few weeks ago and I passed. It is not hard and not painful at all. Good luck with your xray results!! Keep us posted. ;)

Just want to add my 2 cents. I agree with the other DS members that a 97 02 level is great and the test will be a piece of cake. Also, get copies of your test result printouts.
