Hello Everyone,
Its a Beautiful Day Here In Pennsylvania!
I have a question,
I fall asleep rather quickly at night but only after five to 10 min. into sleep, I am jerked awake and find my self with a pulse rate above 100 and have an uneasy feeling, not exactly an impending feeling of doom, just an uneasy feeling. This passes, but I wonder why this is happening and if it means anything.
Does anyone experence anything like this or know what it could be?

Yes I have experienced that same thing qite often I must ask the doctor when I go on Wednesday. I shall let you know what she says.

Holly, have you had a sleep study done ? I only ask because our heart rate would increase as our O2 saturation decreased, and you might have some Apnea.

I did have a sleep study done and it was inconclusive.
My doctor thinks I am having night fright, but I dont think so.
I am in Pulmonary Rehab and they hook us up to a heart monature, and thats ok.
I am going to ask for a 24 hour monitor and see what that reflects.
Looks like many of you experence the same thing.

Well one thing for sure is that I am not alone in this, and as sorry as I am that you guys experence this too, I am glad not to be alone.

Hello HollyN, I don't sleep much, and have had the co2 tests done. So I can't tell you much about personal experience. However, my neighbor is on oxygen while sleeping due not only sleep apnea, but she has seizures in her sleep.
I do hope you talk to your Dr. more about this. If nothingelse, just getting a good night's sleep is so important. (I have numerous problems with lungs and heart, blood, and so on. So I keep a medical journal and write everything down it, 'cause when you call 911, 15 people are there asking questions...smile...!)

I thank you so much, thats a great idea to write things down.
I do want an answer, and if one more doctor tells me its night fright, I think I will scream, cus I dont think it is...
I am not having a bad dream that wakes me up...I am looking for a real answer from the doctors.
