I have been helping my dad and mom for a month or so now ( my dad is really sick ). So they rewarded me by getting me a new swamp cooler. I haven't had a working one for 5 years now.
My son and his friend did all the heavy work ( moving the old one and putting the new one in place ). I did all the wiring and water lines.
It took two days and 8 m6 oxygen bottles (climbing up an down the ladder), and I am really tired, but now its done and I will stay cool this summer.
My doctor said exercise is good for me, I wonder if this fits the bill?

they cool by running water over pads & then a fan to blow it into the house.
they don't work in humidity tho---they just make the house more muggy & icky.
the "small" town where i was born & raised was in the mojave desert & we used swamp coolers.
in the '80's there was a housing boom & my swamp cooler quit working so well.
my dad finally figured out with the growth, more people were planting trees & grass & watering; thus more "humidity" ....
here i had a swamp cooler, but i just changed to a/c because the swamp cooler blows in too much pollen for me now....swamp coolers are soooooo much cheaper to run, i am waiting to see what the difference is on my next electric bill

Please take rest breaks as much as you can so you have the energy to keep taking care of your mom dad and everything eles you need to do.
