Hi,
The nursing home called me. The nurse practionioner thinks Mom has a pulmonary embolism. She is very short of breath, and having a hard time catching her breath. She may be in respiratory distress, and they are sending her to the hospital for xrays.
Your prayers would be appreciated. I don't want to lose her now. I will keep you posted.

I brought her a chocolate milkshake from McDonalds. She sucked that baby down in about 10 minutes!!!! She's on the pureed food, which she said is totally disgusting, so she really appreciated the milkshake.
So, she's looking like the antibiotic is working!! She's such a trouper, i'm so proud of her.

i don't know if i asked before (senelity strikes again) = how old is your mom?
i just love elderly women that are spunky, like your mom sounds.
and i don't blame her for wanting to come home...she's been gone for what seems like forever, and i sure would hate that and want to be in my own home.
she must be one hell of a woman!
prayers are with you both !!!!
and please tell your mom the next time you see her that she is an inspiration to this (me) woman that she's never seen, met or know.
