Wow, that was fast. I'm glad it went well. My headaches will sometimes start during the treatment and sometimes 1 to 2 days later. If it is a spinal type of headache I take a steroid. If it is a migraine type of headache, I take migraine relief tabs. I use a cold gel pack from the freezer on either the back of the neck or my forehead. Also use biofreeze topical cream of back of neck and forehead area. You're doing great in your treatments. Keep drinking the water.

Yeah that WAS fast. There is nothing wrong with going fast if you don't have negative reactions from it. If you feel fine the next couple of days, more power to you and consider yourself one of the few "speed demons" out there :)

Thank you for those tips, countr - I will take your advice to heart. Woke up feeling pretty good today - tired but better overall than I have in a while. I took today off in advance just in case I needed it so I'll be able to take it easy and keep the fluids going.

that was fast....i do 60 g in 6 hrs...a bottle an hr (100/hr).....if i go faster...i feel yucky...i used to go fast...no more...good luck!

like kelli said if you tolerate it its fine...i used to tolerate a faster speed...now i have had to slow it down....after several very bad nights with REALLY bad flu like and fever...i decided it wasnt worth it, but if you tolerate it yeah!

Thanks, Kelli - thanks pcon. It's re-assuring to know that it might just be ok. It really scared me because it seemed like one minute I glanced at the bag and it was pretty full - and the next minute I looked and it was almost empty! *gasp!* There was a five minute period early on when I thought my hand/arm was a little itchy - but it passed. I'm still feeling - dare I say it? - pretty good!

My nurse has been sending text messages checking on me...telling me to keep pouring down the liquids. I'm hitting the emergen-c too. It has potassium and other stuff so hoping it helps to keep electrolyte balance.

when i first started i went REALLY fast....i did ok...i would get flu like (and when i first started i would run a fever during the infusion) that night but the next day i would be fine...i went fast because my prinicpal let me leave early (1:00 or 2:00) without charging me for a day they covered my class for me...since i was always running out of days i took full advantage of it! i worked the hrs back in no time i was at school every morning by 6 am so he knew i put in a lot of my own time...i had to finish before the office closed, so they would keep making my appts later..but since getting so sick in 2010 with whooping cough and dx with sjogren's and taking meds for that...my system went south! i also have a larger dose now (60 g) so the nurses wont run it faster than 100/hr...when i got so sick i had a lot of trouble so they wont take any changes...it works for me since i am now retired....but i long for the days for in and out in less than 2 hrs compared to the 6-7 hrs i now spend there....

wow pcon - i can't imagine doing it in 2 hours and then going right back to work. you are made out of tough stuff!!! (with a great work ethic to boot)

i actually felt worse after the last infusion - but i was dealing with an active chest and sinus infection with a side of scary breathing problems. i'm on my 2nd dose of levaquin for all of that now. hopefully, the infections won't come back as soon as i finish the meds the way they did last time. i'm already seeing way fewer skin type infections since i started infusing so i am hopeful.

Funny I should read this... So I had my first IVIG last week and she pushed me up to 440 for the last 20g. I knew everyone said fast rates could be bad, and she said if I didn't tolerate it we'd come back down, and I'd know because it would itch or I'd feel weird... But it was fine. I thought I was the sh*t. I was chugging h20 and Gatorade like crazy.
Hahahaaaa... That was Tuesday. I was tired Wednesday, got some GI issues Thursday and then the WORST migraine I've ever had Friday. I took advil, Tylenol, imitrex, Loratab, more Advil, more Loratab, more imitrex, more everything, heat, ice, shower,... Somewhere around here I think I cried myself to sleep. I was an inch from saying ER. But I'm a stubborn mule... When I woke up the right side of my mouth was numb and my fingers were tingling- for two days. It was intense. The nurses say it was too fast a rate- uh, ya think?
BUT!!! I actually feel better now than I have in a very long time. I'm scared to say that out loud... But I really think I can feel a big difference. I have done more Monday and Tuesday than I did in the past month. We'll see what happens!!

OMG I can't believe they told you that you would itch or something. It doesn't ALWAYS happen during the infusions. Most of the time for me it wasn't until after that I suffered. Sorry, was hoping you could be another one of our speed demons
