Hey, I watched a video on a study done within hotels earlier, and don't know how to post it but thought it may be good to share since we have some travelers in the group, and we are in the midst of flu season.

Basically to summarize, an investigation was done within multiple hotel chains looking into their cleaning policies. Basically, the glasses they leave in the room aren't ever put through a dishwasher, or sanitized. They were spraying glass cleaner into them and wiping them out with a rag between guests. Bathrooms have not undergone appropriate cleaning, as well as linens. They found that due to lack of compliance with health regulations, glasses were colonized with e. coli, staph, and various flesh eating and mycobacterium infections. It was pretty extensive, and I won't put all the grimy violations, but unfortunately it was found that these are standard hotel practices, and potentially hazardous to peoples health. So, if you travel, it may be good to take your own pillowcase, reusable glasses and dishes, and be mindful of these things while away from home. I didn't put this to scare anyone, it was just something I never thought much about, and I thought it could be informative. I am not a germaphobe, but would never expose myself to years of bacteria that have been festering in a public lodging facility. So, just FYI.
