Yes, I think this is possible. It happens to me on occasion. I think though, if this is happening to you often it is worth reporting to your immune. It might be time for a check up or dose increase if you experience these flare ups on a regular basis.

That is something I've been trying for figure out too - for the last few years. It's it really us fighting a bug of some sort or is it the pain part of the condition ??? I haven't been able to get a straight answer from my hematologist on this. My GP likes to tell me I have something autoimmune but blood work doesn't support it....but then I have other people's blood products in me. *sigh*

Hi all I'm new here but wanted to comment I just did my third IgG treatment and have had severe pain and fatigue ever since. After my first two infusions I had drop in temperature and chills, nausea and then a fever and sweats for about four days post infusion. With the third infusion I didn't have any of the above except some slight nausea i've had severe pain in my back neck joints and overwhelming fatigue. My immunologist told me I still must have some infection going on but I haven't had this kind of pain and fatigue for quite some time.

I had previously been diagnosed with Lyme disease but don't know how the test would've shown as positive for Lyme, having this condition. Also diagnosed with hypo-thyroid, fibromyalgia , Sjogren's syndrome and other autoimmune diseases at various times so I don't know how these affect the foregoing

I think Sonnycamehome was right with her reply. Maybe you need your dose increased. But every once in a while I feel terribly sick all over again as you describe. Disappointing. Good luck.

Fatigue with this is very very common. Sometimes your dose is not high enough or your levels. IVIG takes awhile to work, 6 months to a year. Hang in there

I have been getting weekly subs infusions since January, after a bad IVIG experience (ascetic meningitis and 4 days in hospital) in November 2015. No sinus infections at all last spring (after having had 12 in 2015, + a 10-week URI during which I lost smell + taste, still gone). But 2 sinus infections over the summer. Still, it's a huge improvement. Questions: 1) Is this common? and 2) Do you all have ongoing appts with your immunologist? I had two appointments last January, then nothing. I can call or email if there's a problem, but no followups. Just as glad, since I'm not looking for more doctor appts. But I just wondered, is this typical with them?

I do have ongoing apointments with my immunologist about every 3 months but I can call him at any time. I like this because I feel more secure knowing someone is following my progress. I have many ups and downs with this disease. I have many different reactions after infusions. I feel better one month and poorly another. For me, there has been no consistency but overall improvement. Good luck!

I went to my immunologist today and he said that yes we do at times have symptoms of the disease itself even when not sick from something else. He said that the only way to try to deal with it is by upping the dose and/or frequency.

My IVIG infusion doctor is actually a rheumatologist and he does labs and sees me every other month to go over labs and how I'm feeling. I have an immunologist, infectious disease doctor, pulmonary specialist - luckily they try to communicate with each other. I see each of them with varying frequency depending on what is going on at the time. I receive IVIG - Octagam every 4 weeks and my reactions each time can be different. I always feel a great deal of fatigue on the day of the infusion. Some months that's all the reaction I have. Other times, I have four days of headaches (often migraines) and sometimes nausea (due to headache?) and on-going fatigue. Slower administration of the IVIG has helped with the headaches (though its not always enough to prevent the side effects) and the headaches are less with Octagam than with Privigen for me.
