Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
yesterday i got my 2nd IVIg - my first 'full strength' infusion. it went very well!
the first infusion was a lower dose but it helped. by the last week though - i was really dragging again. when i went to my appointment - i think i was starting to come down with pneumonia - very tough to breathe...stabbing pain in my back when i took a breath. i know infusions aren't supposed to work this quickly - but every bit of that pain is gone today. i already feel TONS better and i'm not fighting to breathe.
it was a big dose (60g) - but thanks to a great nurse and to you guys - i'm doing great. the infusion took about five and a half hours. thought i might get a headache a time or two but tylenol knocked it right out.
just chilling out today...taking it easy and seeing how much water i can slog down.
thank you all again so much for all the tips and the information. i am so encouraged! :-) if things keep going this well - i might just have to order that wonder woman suit ;-D

sounds like it went great! just keep hydrating.....
and i feel better after igg if i am coming down with something it usually nips it in the bud...so probably not just in your head....
