Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
I've been absorbing the great info from this group in the past day and so glad I found this community! Thanks for all the great posts and info.
I'm going in on Friday for my second attempt at IVIg. I wish I would have found all your great tips last month before my first attempt. I think they rushed the infusion and now have new orders for a slower rate and I am much more informed. I will be drinking lots of water and the dr. has ordered more pre-meds to help with the chills and chest pain.

I drink Gatorade in addition to the water. It helps keep the electrolytes from getting messed up with the excessive hydration and also helps regulate them before/after the infusion.
Remember to continue heavy hydration for about 2 days afterwards too.
