Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
Hi all, I am a teacher and currently work in an infant room that has been hit with RSV. I have been told not by a Dr. that RSV in adults shows up as a cold and have read that it can hit dangerously hard in people with immune and lung issues, I have both! Is there anything that I should watch out for? I have had a little "Wheat Cough" over the last week or so but it seems to be getting better a bit each day and not acting at all like coughs usually do for me, and so I haven't called my Dr. yet. Any advice besides don't go to work, drink a ton and wash your hands...
I'll throw out one more "easy" one, but hopefully still good. IMO, worthwhile to call your doc just to get a recommendation and get his/her take on what to do. It can't hurt, and I think it's valuable to be proactive with this stuff.
