Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

Remicade Infusions - CVID and IBD patients

Hello! I'm reaching out to my fellow CVID patients that also suffer from IBD (Crohns or UC).

Does anyone get both IVIG infusions and Remicade infusions?

Would love to hear from anyone else in this situation.

i get ivig and iv orencia. i have sjogren's and RA along with CVID. I am also on daily predinsone, lefludamine, and plaqunil... i think remicaid and orencia are similar

Thanks, Pcon! I've been on prednisone for the first time for a few weeks, but the dr. doesn't want to continue that long term.... so they are looking at as an treatment option. Do you infuse your ivig at the same time as orencia, or is it better to do at different times (due to side effects)??? Just a little nervous about another "big" drug....

different days...i do ivig every 3 wks and orencia every 4 wks so they do fall on the same week at times..i havent had any problems with doing them on the same week...my igg levels are remaining good and i have been on the immune depressors for 2 yrs now...my igg levels are 1200-1300 so it is doable...my igg is a relaively high dose 60 g every 3 wks...

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
