Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
1. The national conference is in Phoenix about a 14 hours drive. It is by far the best event every two years. There are scholarships for your hotel room and the cost of the conference, include meals and galas is $195 for a family of four.
2. I'd be willing to bet that if you contact Kathy Antilla, the director of volunteers and educational director at the IDF, if you wanted to take the lead and help coordinate it, I'd think she would help you.

Finally, the IDF spokesperson did a good job of promoting advocacy and getting involved. She talked about current legislative initiatives and the issues relating to the moving our meds to higher tier levels and passing more cost on to us.
There were also vendors there from the biotech companies and home health services. It was also a great opportunity to just meet people with our illness and compare notes.
