Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
Hey. Just found out today that 3 nodules were found in my right lung on a CT about 6 months ago. This clinic sucks, and has terrible communication. I was actually finalizing the discontinuation of care with them today. Anyways though, does anybody have experience with whether or not this is significant to my health? From past knowledge it could have just been an acute infection? Not sure if it is worth asking my current doctor about, if this is something that is supposed to be followed up down the road to determine progression? I believe that was my most recent CT so it's been a while. My right lung has undergone the most damage, so it isn't entirely surprising...I'm am just not educated on what this means! I am so sorry you were let down by that clinic. That really sucks.
I don't know too much about nodules as they relate to CVID, but lung cancer runs lie crazy on my dad's side of the family, so many people in my family are relieved when the doc finds nodules vs just about anything else.
Again, I don't know about them in relation to CVID, but what I do know is that when my family gets CT's and Xrays, and there are nodules, if they are small in size, they are usually benign. The Doc will generally re-check every 6 months to a year to my smart relatives who continue to suck down a couple packs of smokes a day, and if the nodules have not grown, then they are benign. If they grow, then biopsies are needed to see if there are cancerous cells.
So, that makes me think you may want to have a follow up scan, so your doc has a comparison scan and can see that the nodules have stayed the same size.

I thought you meant your new Immunology Clinic ended up not working out, and I was so disappointed for you!
I'm glad the Immunology clinic is good, and hope they will manage the nodule issue with good medical care.
