Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
Just need somewhere to share my feelings.
We just arrived in Bangalore for a 2-3 year international assignment. I was diagnosed about 18 months ago and have been doing very well lately. I am getting my same medication sent from the US for then to administer here. I have my first infusion scheduled for 9/15 to be done at the hospital here. That will be 4 weeks from my last one when I typically get one every 3 weeks. We are living in an Indian style hotel things are stressful as expected right now. We arrived on 9/1 and my two kids ages 9 and 11 start school on 9/3. They are starting 3 weeks late, there is two back to school nights this week and we are unsure when we will be able to move into the house we are renting.
I am just nervous about all of this and since my husband and kids all flipped out today (culture shock) I am trying to just relax. I do have confidence in this doctor. She works in the USA doing research and in Bangalore. She seems extremely knowledgeable. She even assisted in making sure I could continue on medication from the USA.
No questions, just needed to get this down on paper.

As women we often feel we have to be the rock for our families. And you sound as if you have been for yours :) I think the stress will subside once everyone gets into a routine and you get into your house. What a blessing to have found the doctor you did and are able to get your IGG from the states! Please keep us updated
